St. Mark’s is hosting a meatless soup supper on Ash Wednesday, March 6th, after our CCD presents live Stations of the Cross. Ashes will be given after the presentation! Please call the Rectory at 732-449-6364 ext. 112 and let us know if you are able to bring a soup, what kind of soup, and/or if you're available to help serve. If possible, bring your soup in a slow cooker (that can be set on warm/low) to the Church basement between the hours of 12 Noon and 3:30 PM. Since Ash Wednesday is a day of abstinence from meat, the soups must be vegetarian, such as minestrone, lentil, butternut squash, or broccoli cheddar, or seafood, such as clam chowder or lobster bisque. This year, we are going to limit the choice of soups to the most popular recipes, so please call the Rectory if you can help. Soup stock may be chicken or beef but soup can not contain pieces of meat. Thank you for volunteering! St. Mark’s will supply the bread and butter, coffee, tea and soda.
